| Ford literature touted the mid-size '76 Gran Torino as the car that "takes you a big step up in luxury and distinction." It's graceful styling included standard rocker panel molding and wraparound taillights, and a number of optional aesthetic treatments were available. The Gran Torino rode on a 114-inch wheelbase and was powered by a 351 cid. V-8 engine. Power-steering and power front disc brakes further enhanced driver comfort. America's bicentennial year marked the last year of availability for the Gran Torino, but the '76 model remained true to Ford's enduring spirit of comfort and performance.
