The first 1968 release in the Lane series of Shelby Fastbacks. Model features include, metal body and subframe, full opening body panels, photo-etched grille with Lucas style driving lamps, highly detailed 428 c.i. engine, fully wired and plumbed, 4-speed top-loader transmission, Shelby 10-spoke aluminum wheels, functional steering, carpeted interior, folding, cushioned seats, detailed interior headliner, nylon fabric seatbelts, shoulder harnesses, rubber tires with accurate tread pattern, rotating driveshaft, steel fuel lines and emergency brake cables to name a few!

When Carroll Shelby first learned of the availability of a souped-up Cobra Jet motor, he decided to drop one into the confines of the GT-500 engine compartment and designate it as the GT500KR, KR meaning King of the Road. With its conservatively rated 335 horsepower CJ428, this was undoubtedly the most powerful Shelby available in 1968.

  • Lucas Brand Driving Lamps
