In '63 there were three basic types of factory experimental vehicles. The Chevrolet Z-11's were one of these because they were only made in a very limited quantity. The Chevrolet Z-11 Impala was the best entry in this class as only 57 were built and equipped with 427 cu. in. V-8 engines! Each one was driven by a famous Chevrolet driver; Dave Strickler, Don Nicholosn, Butch Leal, Hayden Proffitt, and others. Don Nicholoson's is the first Z-11 die cast reproduction we have released. It was the #2 car released by Chevrolet. The car ran in the low 12 E.T.s and close to 120 mph. The 1963 Z11 Chevrolet was so dominant that they swept the R/Factory Experimental class at both the Winternationals and the Nationals. Don of course, went on to the International Drag Racing Hall of Fame and is ranked 18th all time in the official NHRA top 50 drivers.
